The Loom History

Dating back to the mid 1800’s, Meadow Mill was one of Hooper’s Woodberry Manufacturing Company located in the Jones Falls Valley. The mill was first intended for the manufacturing of seine twines and cotton duck (a heavy canvas used primarily for ship sails). After a long life in the textiles, the mill was sold to Londontown Manufacturing Company in the 1960’s and became home to the famous London Fog Raincoats. Today Meadow Mill is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and offers contemporary uses with a historic feel.

We utilize the same network of local farmers, foragers, watermen and women that our award winning sister restaurant, La Cuchara, has developed over the course of the past 8 years. This customized, seasonal approach to every event is paramount to our ability to provide hassle-free, memorable experiences to celebrate all of life’s milestones.

The Loom is located in Baltimore City in the historic Hampden/Woodberry neighborhood at 3600 Clipper Mill Road, Baltimore, MD 21211.

How can I tour the space?

Site visits are scheduled via appointment only Monday- Friday, 9am-5:30pm and occasionally on weekends. To schedule a time email events@loombaltimore.com or call us 410-779-1217.

What is the capacity?

The Loom offers over 4,000 sq ft of indoor and outdoor space. The interior space can host approximately 120 guests for a seated event with dancing and up to 250 for a reception style event. The exterior courtyard provides seating for approximately 60 guests.

What is the rental duration?

An event rental includes three (3) hours for set-up, up to four (4) hours for the event, and one (1) hour for clean-up. You may purchase additional event hours for $750/ per hour. All events must end by midnight; however clean-up may extend past midnight. New Year’s Eve events may end as late as 1:00 am.

What is included in the rental?

We provide 16 60”round tables, 160 wooden chairs, 6 cocktail tables along with use of our wedding suite, exterior fireplace, and ample on-site parking.

Do you offer peak and off-peak pricing?

No, our rates vary depending on the day of the week. Holidays are subject to a rate increase.

Do you allow an outside caterer?

We have an exclusive on-site caterer, In Bloom Caterers. Led by award-winning Chef Ben Lefenfeld, each reception menu is handcrafted to meet the needs of each of our clients.

Do you require liability insurance?

Yes, liability insurance coverage is required for your event in the amount of $1,000,000.00. Typically this coverage can be acquired through a waiver provided by your homeowners insurance or through a website called wedsafe.com.

What is the deposit amount and when is it due?

A 50% deposit, payable by check, along with a signed contract are required to reserve a date.

Do you offer a non-profit or military discount?

Yes, a discount of 10% is applied to all valid 501 (3)(c) organizations and active military brides or grooms. Proof of documentation is required for the discount to be applied.

Is there a wedding suite available on-site?

There is a suite that is available one hour prior to the start of your event time. It is recommended that the wedding party arrives with finished hair and make-up and use the suite for last minute adjustments and staging for the ceremony.
